As Summer rolls in, there are lot of potlucks and picnics planned in the calendar. And with graduation parties, school picnics and summer concerts and events, there are plenty of opportunities to try out some new recipes, be it for yourself, or to entertain someone else. My daughter's pre-school class had a parents-kids conference where they asked us to bring tidbits and munchies from home. Both me and my daughter have a very heavy sweet tooth, so it was no surprise when she asked me to bake cookies for the meet-up, along with some sandwiches. So I reverted back to a recipe which takes an old-time favorite, chocolate chip cookies, and gives a … [Read More...]

Summer has been on in full swing these past few days as temperatures hit the 80's, perfect time to enjoy backyard barbecues, water activities or just enjoy a weekend afternoon reading a favorite book on your hammock! And then, I saw these delicious Salted Caramel & Pecan candies on the KAF blog, and they looked sinful enough to steal another glance. I had also preciously bookmarked a recipe for Salted Caramel by the famous chef Michael … [Read More...]

I know most Moms cut themselves some slack after pregnancy and its no harm as long as you are in a healthy weight range. But still, this conversation spurred me into trying to get back in shape and try to lose as many pounds as I can, close to 10 if possible. I know many of you Moms out there might be feeling the same thing, but the din and bustle of a busy harried life makes it extremely difficult to find time and … [Read More...]

Healthy Green Muffins with Spinach Banana and Pecans I'm back from a fabulous vacation in Australia, and I am ready to take it on! All the swimming, scuba-diving and snorkeling in the Great Barrier Reef, the heart-warming hikes in the rain-forests and the fabulous food in Sydney was a wonderful break, and now I am ready to ride the blogging trail again! The best part, we came home and see that our garden is blooming like never before - the vines are covered in roses, the pink jasmine is flowering like crazy, even the dead-looking Maple and Clematis are thriving, and all around I see colorful blooms dotting the scene, its like coming back to … [Read More...]
