Healthy Avocado Smoothie

Avocado Smoothie – If you haven’t tried it yet, you are missing something! Avocado is a great fruit with several health benefits; it contains healthy omega-3 acids, magnesium, fiber and potassium. I added shredded coconut and a hint of vanilla essence for more flavor. Due to the creamy texture of avocado, this smoothie will be creamy too – but remember, its more for being healthy, than for the taste!

2 medium avocados
1/4 cup honeydew melon – cubes
1/4 cup water
1/2 cup ice
1/4 cup sweetened condensed milk
1-2 tbsp shredded coconut (optional)
2 drops vanilla essence (optional)

Note: if you don’t have condensed milk, you can use regular cream with sugar.

Scoop out the pulp from the avocados and add to the blender. Add the melon, condensed milk and coconut and blend until smooth.

Now gradually add the crushed ice, water, and vanilla essence and blend to make a smooth creamy mixture.

Tip: For a healthier version, replace the condensed milk with soy milk or non-fat vanilla yogurt. You can also add some chopped chocolate for an Avocado-Chocolate Smoothie

Garnish with a sprig of mint and serve in chilled glasses. One small glass of this refreshing Avocado Smoothie will keep you full for a good 2-3 hours!

    you might find it hard to imagine an aocado smoothie, and I agree, the taste is not for everyone, but its very healthy, and definitely delicious:)
