Chocolate Fondue Recipes

fondue-recipes-chocolateThere’s something very romantic about enjoying a Fondue dinner, especially when the prime ingredients are Chocolate or Cheese, there’s hardly anything to question!But if you are looking for a Valentine day fondue, or anything to celebrate a special occasion, Chocolate wins over Cheese, hands down! People have associated Fondue as a sophisticated meal that is served only in restaurants, for a very long time. But these days, with Fondue sets becoming so affordable, and so convenient, enjoying a lovely Fondue dinner at home, complete with a setting of flowers and candles, is easier than you’d think!

Delicious Chocolate Fondue Recipes

Flaming Turtle Chocolate Fondue
1/4 cup whipping (or heavy)cream
1/2 cup milk chocolate
1/4 cup caramel syrup
2 Tbsp pecans, chopped
2 Tbsp rum, 151-proof for flambé

Soften milk chocolate in the microwave. Once it is hot, add the whipping cream and stir until you have a smooth consistency. Pour caramel into a pool in the middle of the chocolate. When it is time to serve, pour the rum over the top of the chocolate. Leave a small amount on the spoon to ignite with a lighter. Use flaming spoon to ignite the rum on the chocolate. Add the chopped pecans to the chocolate. Allow the flame to burn out. Add the chopped pecans right before serving.

Mocha Fondue
4 ounces of sweet baking chocolate, broken up
4 ounces semisweet chocolate, chopped
2/3 – cup light cream or milk
1/2 – cup sifted powdered sugar
1 – teaspoon instant coffee crystals
2 – tablespoons coffee liqueur

In a heavy saucepan combine chocolates, cream, sugar, and coffee crystals. Heat and stir over low heat until melted and smooth. Remove from heat; stir in liqueur. Pour into a fondue pot; keep warm over low heat.

White Chocolate & Raspberry Fondue
1 tablespoon of raspberry liqueur
4 ounces of white chocolate.

Melt the white chocolate over double boiler. Add the raspberry liqueur and Stir slowly until smooth. Top with 1 ounce of graham cracker crumbs for a bit of crisp flavor.

Mexican Chocolate Fondue
4 ounces of semi-sweet dark chocolate
1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon and ancho chili pepper
1/4 cup heavy cream
a dash of vanilla essence

Melt the chocolate, then add the heavy cream and stir until smooth and creamy. Mix in the cinnamon and chili pepper. Finish with the vanilla essence.

Chocolate Fondue a la Chalet Suisse
3 (3-ounce) bars Toblerone
1/2 cup light or heavy cream
2 tablespoons Kirsch brandy or Cointreau

Break the Toblerone into separate triangular pieces. Combine all the ingredients in a saucepan or small chafing dish. Stir over low heat until the chocolate is melted and smooth. Serve in a chafing dish over low heat.

Peanut Butter & Chocolate Fondue
1/2 cup peanut butter
12 ounces of semisweet chocolate pieces

Melt the chocolate and stir in peanut butter. Mix till smooth. Heat until hot and put in a heat-proof serving dish.
