You Snooze, You Lose! The Keys to an Amazing Morning

morning-exercise

A lot of people moan about the mornings. But the morning is really the most important part of your day – how you go about it can inform how the rest of your day is going to go in big ways. You need to start your day right – so make sure you get a decent amount of sleep and, instead of hitting the snooze button (never hit the snooze button!), make sure you’ve got all of this down!

Be prepared

What clothes are you going to wear today? What do you need to achieve in the morning and throughout the rest of the day? What are you going to have for breakfast? These are things people often work out and decide upon in the morning, but why not get that over and done with the night before? Take some time to get prepared for the next day before going to bed. When you wake up, you’ll already know precisely what to do, saving you a lot of time and making sure you’re ready to go. Read more at www.moneysavingmom.com.

Get moving

A lot of people wake up and just… sit there. Well, some just lie there, which is even worse. The worst thing you can do is succumb to that groggy feeling (which is often the effect of not having slept enough, by the way!). As soon as you’re awake, get up and have a good stretch. In fact, you may want to take things further and have a little workout. The reason that so many people exercise in the morning is because it gets your blood pumping – which is precisely what your brain needs to take on the day. Get rid of annoyances

A lot of people aren’t in the right frame of mind in the morning because they’re barraged by small annoyances. They’ve got a bunch of emails from work, they have a crick in their neck, they need to fumble around for their glasses, they have to deal with the commute. These are all problems you should work to eliminate. Don’t wake up and immediately check your phone, even to check the news – that will probably just depress you! Consider a firmer pillow to deal with neck problems. Leave earlier to avoid rush hour. And instead of waking up with blurry eyesight, consider getting eye problems fixed permanently so you see clearly right away. Find out more at www.sweye.com.

Eat and drink right

Your body is basically screaming for water when you wake up. You’ll have a dry mouth, but the rest of your body is equally dehydrated. So when you wake up, get yourself a big glass of water and drink it up. Don’t just sip it throughout the morning – when you wake up, the first thing you should do is drink a whole glass of water. As for food, you should consider getting more protein in your breakfast. This is more likely to give you the energy you need.
